Pilgrim High School (also known as Pilgrim, or PHS) is a 9-12th grade secondary school in Warwick, Rhode Island. The school is one floor and features various wings of classes, mainly divided by subject (100s, 200s, 300s, etc.). The School logo is the shape of a minuteman head formed by the words "Pilgrim High School Patriots", although a black or gold "P" is used for most athletic teams. School colors are black, gold (or yellow), and white. The school has an enrollment of over one thousand students and its principal is Dennis Mullen.
The school has several famous alumni including the Emmy Award winning actor James Woods (Class of '65), College All-American, Olympian and two-time Stanley Cup winning NHL goalie Chris Terreri (Class of '82), PGA professional golfer Patrick Sheehan (Class of '87), Major League Baseball pitcher Dan Wheeler (Class of '95)
Clubs and activities
Student clubs active at Pilgrim High School include Academic Decathlon, Amnesty International, Mock Trial, Model Legislature, Chorus, Chorale, Vocal Jazz, Women's Choir, Band, Jazz Band, Drama (The Pilgrim Players), Third Eye, Environmental Club, AFS, Students Against Drunk Driving, and Protect Your Circle.
School rivals are Warwick Vets and Tollgate. Pilgrim also has an early childhood learning center and a large special education department. Pilgrim has the lowest arrest rate of public high schools in Warwick. Pilgrim is also known locally for its special education department and its student body's tolerance, acceptance, and integration of the special education students in everyday school events and activities.
