David Valdes, (born ?) is an American Academy Award nominated film producer more notable in the western genre and collaborating with Clint Eastwood.

Career

Valdes first started out his career as a production manager and unit director for films like Tightrope, (which he also had a minor role in), The Outsiders and Oh, God! Book II.

He became good friends with Eastwood after Tightrope and soon Valdes produced his first movie for Eastwood in 1985's Pale Rider. He went on to produce other Eastwood classics like The Dead Pool, Pink Cadillac, White Hunter Black Heart and Unforgiven.

Valdes received his first Oscar nomination for The Green Mile along with the film's director Frank Darabont.[1]

Valdes has since been producing more western films, as well as some science ficion films such as The Time Machine, Babylon A.D., and I Am Number Four.[2]
