Amaya is an upcoming Philippine historical drama, created and developed by Suzette Doctolero, with Marian Rivera in the title-role.[1]

Plot

Amaya is a woman blessed with extraordinary powers, which she will use to lead her people in a time dominated by males.[2][3]

Production

Huge is an understatement, Amaya will be bigger than Mulawin and Encantadia combined, which were hit primetime soaps of GMA Network. Amaya will be GMA Network's "most expensive primetime series", more expensive than the previous Asian Treasures in 2007. The creator of the series is also the one who created the phenomenal kingdom series, Encantadia. Also, the production crew is a combined team of past hit shows Diva and Grazilda. It will be GMA's first "epic-serye". The show will use HD Cameras, as GMA Network plans to use HD cameras in all programs last quarter of 2010 onwards.
