Round Maple is a small hamlet in the Babergh district, in the county of Suffolk, England. It is located near the larger hamlet of Mill Green, in the civil parish of Edwardstone.

Features

Round Maple has no amenities, the nearest pub is in Mill Green, the church is in Edwardstone and the nearest shops are in Boxford and Little Waldingfield.

The hamlet is near two woods: Winding Wood, a privately owned wood in the Edwardstone Woods, a group of woodlands which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) nature reserve, it is classified as ancient woodland and has several footpaths. Langley Wood, a wood located near the road towards Great Waldingfield.

There are four Grade II listed buildings in the hamlet, all timber-framed and plastered: Flushing Farm, an 18th or early 19th century building;[1] Little Thatch, a renovated 17th to 18th century single-storey building;[2] Quicks Farm, a house with a red brick front, gable ends;[3] and Seasons, a single storey thatched building with attics..[4]

Geography

Round Maple is located on a minor road with a Y-junction for Mill Green between the villages of Great Waldingfield and Kersey. It is about a 1 hour drive from London Stansted Airport and about 70 miles away from London.
