Dubious license. The uploader claims it to be a user-authored photo but it appears to have been scanned from a newspaper or book. Skier Dude (talk) 06:58, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know ... it's not nearly grainy enough to be a newspaper. (See Special:Undelete/File:Image-Grupo_feminista.jpg and Special:Undelete/File:With_Frank_Sinatra.jpg for ones this same user uploaded that look like they were cut out of a newspaper and matted in an album.) It could have been from a glossy set of photos in a book, but it looks like it could have just come from somebody's old family photos. I'm guessing/assuming, based on their contributions, that the uploader is related to the subject. --B (talk) 02:21, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The link provided to the image source is now 404, though the website itself remains active. Since the image was uploaded 4 years ago, I have no strong reason to suspect the image has now suddenly become unfree, or that the original uploader ever lied about its source. In my opinion, the website (Agência Brasil) is likely to be reliable and I personally doubt they would knowingly publish the image under the Creative Commons License Attribution 2.5 Brazil if it wasn't true. It is worth noting the image is widely used on other Wikimedia Foundation projects. How can we check for sure? Astronaut (talk) 12:03, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Vote to delete. Not only is the image pulled from facebook, but the information about this image is very vague; it is unclear where/when this protest is happening, and it is not a Syrian specific protest as I can see an Egyptian flag and signs talking about Egypt in the photo. --68.151.96.245 (talk) 18:12, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That statement of permission is NOT free enough for our needs. {{PD-Ukraine}} suggests it might be PD if it was created before 1951 and the creator is either unknown or was dead by then. But we have no way of knowing whether this is an actual portrait created in his lifetime or something that was created recently. --B (talk) 02:30, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
