Nine Muses (나인뮤지스) is a nine-member South Korean girl group under Korean music label Star Empire Entertainment. The group is made predominantly of models from the label. The group made their official public debut in August of 2010 with the single "No Playboy".[1]
History
Debut
Before their official debut, Nine Muses released a track for Prosecutor Princess' OST called "Give Me". The group was announced on March 26, 2010, after their maknae gained a lot of interest from the public when she appeared in the music video of label mates, ZE:A (another 9 member band from Star Empire Entertainment). It wasn't until August 12, 2010, that Nine Muses made an official debut with the album "Let's Have a Party". The title track of the album being "No Playboy", a song produced by composer Raintstone, and Park Jin Young.
Later into their debut, member Jaekyung left the group to focus on her modeling career and was replaced by Hyuna. In late 2010, the girls continued with follow-up promotions with the song "Ladies"[2].
Nine Muses in a car accident
On September 8, 2010, it was reported that the members of Nine Muses has been involved in a car accident after they had left the Grand Carnival. The cause of the accident was that one of the tires of the van was replaced by a tire that was not the correct size, causing a loss of balance, which unfortunately caused the accident. All the members were taken to a hospital, where it was confirmed only five received minor injuries, though all were traumatized by the accident[3]. Following the accident, their company, Star Empire Entertainment suspended their activities briefly until they had all recovered.
Advances to Japan
In December 6, 2010, it was announced that the band was preparing to advance to Japan. They would perform on Seoul Train, which is an even in which K-pop artists and groups perform for their Japanese fans. On December 26, 2010, Nine Muses held a successful performance of six songs on Seoul Train alongside V.O.S. and ZE:A[4].
