Nita Marquez

Born "Juanita Lee Marquez" (May 30, 1973) is most notably recognized as Miss National Fitness 2008 by the National Physique Committee Spanning 15 years her competitive fitness career is a testament to Nita's commitment to goals and she hopes her example helps others. Alongside her fitness ambitions Nita also is a published author, actress and has appeared in numerous film roles and national television commercial campaigns. Nita is a poet at heart and has penned over 400 poems, she briefly focused her creative side towards a singing and songwriting career but lately has focused on her daughters talent. Her song "Spirit of a Queen" has gotten rave reviews and she hopes to perform the title with her daughter as a duet.

Personal Life

Born to Sandra Coleman and Carlos Marquez in Royal Oak Michigan, Nita is the only child of her parents union but enjoys a large extended family. Married in 1998 to Martin Wilson in Phoenix, Arizona, Nita and Martin have three children together, Bricia, Acacia and their son Quinn. Although divorced in 2006 they maintain close relation in respect to raising their children. In 2009 Nita moved her family to Southern California in pursuit of her dreams as a national spokesperson for fitness and actress/fitness model

Career/Fitness competitions

While Nita has earned her pro-card in the IFBB ranks she still continues to pursue her entrepreneurial endeavors mainly by being a physical trainer and offering her services as a spokeswoman for fitness at different venues across the country, most notably Nita gave a lecture about fitness to over 400 soldiers in the National Guard. Also Nita heads several budding projects, through WEE inc she has championed the continuation of education for single mothers with a scholarship fund. Fitness Directives LLC is a company started by Nita to promote the exposure of fitness and health into the mainstream media. As well as several others.

Author

Published in 2008, Nita co-authored her book (Fit for Combat - When fitness is a matter of life or death) A template for customizing fitness programs that will help men and women lean out and sculpt their physique. Currently Nita is writing her second book as of yet untitled she states she wants to "pick up where her first book left off" and tackle the psychological back story of fitness/health in today's world. Also seeking to publish her book of poems which Nita describes as "Sometimes Dark" a lot of which are written about her personal trials in life and her thoughts in handling and overcoming the obstacles.

Film/Television

Nita's desire for creative expression inevitably lead her to pursue a broader audience, and film and television offered her just such an outlet. While discovering her most effective platform to launch from Nita has produced, starred and been a supporting cast member in a few limited release films as well as national television commercials for companies such as Lifelock.
