FYI The fact that IRNA mentioned the report is only because IRNA relied on RFE/RL. There is no such IMF report and unless this Wikipedia entry can actually link to any such report, then it should be deleted. |

Mess in lead
currently the lead is a mess with conflicting statements:

According to the International Monetary Fund, the Islamic Republic of Iran has the highest rate of "brain drain" of the 90 countries it measured,[1] with more than 150,000 Iranians estimated to exit Iran every year.[1].... There was no such IMF report. According to the American-Iranian Council the report was unsubstantiated[3]:
Perhaps in response to some queries by AIC last week, RFE/RL today published a clarification of their story in the March 15th edition of the Iran Report. The story in question referred to an alleged recent IMF report determining that Iran suffers from the “world’s highest rate of brain drain.” We believe it is important for readers to be aware that this IMF report does not appear to exist. 2004-04-12
The anon who added the AIC report could have cleaned up the article by checking the RFE/RL story which tells what the IMF report does say, namely: Actually, according to an IMF survey cited by IRNA on 30 December 2003, "Iran ranks first in brain drain among 61 developing and less developed countries (LDC)." http://www.rferl.org/content/article/1342682.html
