The GA engine is a 1.6 L straight-4 piston engine from Nissan. It has an iron block and aluminum DOHC 4-valve heads with variable valve timing. The GA was produced from August 1987 through 1997. The GA series of engine is not DOHC in australia and is also sold as a 1.8l (GA18e)
GA16I
The GA16I is a 1.6 L (1597 cc) engine produced from August 1987 through June 1990. It produces 90 hp (66 KW) It was a 12-valve design, and one version was built with hydraulic lifters.

- 1989-1990 Nissan Pulsar
GA14DE and GA14DS
The GA14DE is a 1.4 L (1392 cc) 16V DOHC engine. Bore x stroke (mm): 73.6 x 81.8 It produces 62kW (86PS). Redline at 7200 rpm.

- 1995-2001 Nissan Almera/Puslar N14
GA16DE
The GA16DE is a 1.6 L (1597 cc) engine produced from November 1990 through 1997. All GA16DEs had 16 valves and DOHC heads. There are two versions, the VTC, which produced 115 hp (85 kW) and 108 ft·lbf (146 Nm) and a non-VTC version (European-spec) which made 102 hp (76 kW).
