The discography of Eric Clapton, a British guitarist and singer-songwriter, currently contains twenty studio albums, twenty-six singles, sixteen compilations, nine live albums and six soundtrack albums as a solo-artist and a studio album, three compilation albums and three live albums with The Yardbirds; three compilation albums with Jimmy Page and the Immediate All-Stars; a studio album with John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers; a compilation album with Powerhouse; four studio albums, eight compilation albums, three live albums and a box-set with Cream; a studio album with Blind Faith; a live album with John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band; a live album with Delaney & Bonnie & Friends; three compilation albums with Vivian Stanshall and the Sean Head Showband and one studio album, two live albums and one box-set with Derek and the Dominos.

Eric Clapton earned a moderate name recognition as a member of the several bands listed above, after deciding to occur as a solo-artist. There he released in 1970 his debut album Eric Clapton, which charted at number 17 in the US charts and at number 14 in the British charts. Four years later he released his second recognized album 461 Ocean Boulevard, which received two gold certifications in the US and UK and peaked at number 1 in the US charts. He became more well-known by releasing his fifth album Slowhand, named after his slow playing on the guitar and was later a nickname to him. This album received three times multi-platinum in the United States and is one of his best-known major solo studio album to date. The period between 1989 and 2001 was his best time in terms of his sales certifications worldwide. On 27 September 2010 he released the album with the simple name Clapton which peaked at number six in the US charts and number seven in the UK charts. Eric Clapton's best-selling album to date is the live album Unplugged, one of many albums in the "MTV Unplugged" series on MTV, in which musicians playing their songs on acoustic instruments. This album has sold more than ten million times in the United States alone.[1] It's also the third best-selling live album in the United States, after Garth Brooks's Double Live and Bruce Springsteen's Live/1975–85.
