It would be good if anyone could find the CNN interviews with him right after the bombing, in which he denied his involvement and that of Timothy McVeigh, then the reports on his wife being brought up on drug charges, which occurred before he confessed to helping McVeigh. While I remember these occurrences, I haven't been able to find them again, but they've always tainted that whole affair with the thought that his wife was held hostage against him testifying the way they wanted him to. Minor question: a New York Times article http://www.nytimes.com/1995/06/22/us/bombing-suspect-s-friend-near-plea-deal.html spells his wife's name "Laurie." Misprint or correct spelling? Most other news articles use "Lori" as the spelling. To answer some of the above questions, the same article implies that Fortier agreed to testify after prosecutors agreed not to charge him as a co-conspirator, and possibly for an immunity deal for his wife. Evidence strongly suggests that he was ''not'' involved to the level of either McVeigh or Nichols. I can't find the CNN transcript of Fortier's denial of involvement either, but here's a WaPo link that cites it: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/national/longterm/oklahoma/stories/ok080995.htm [[User:Black max|Black Max]] ([[User talk:Black max|talk]]) 02:36, 16 April 2011 (UTC) Black Max

Merge?

Re the proposal to merge with Oklahoma City bombing:
Agree. Either merge, or add biographical detail to the Fortier article if they are notable in their own right for anything other than the bombing. Pol098 (talk)

Is there any record of what evidence he and his wife gave. It seems that after being the one who scouted the joint for a mass murder, he got off more that easy - car theft gets you longer in jail than that in most states. I have never fully understood the lack of interest in this guy and his wife, or the mother hen attitude of the US government toward them - remember they were involved in this up to their necks, probably more so than McVeigh or Nichols. 159.105.80.103 (talk) 14:08, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
