His wisdom was of "sulphuric quality"? What the hell does that mean?

Was wondering that myself. "Sulphuric" would seem to indicate that it reeked of brimstone — as in traditional descriptions of Hell — which nothing else in the article seems to suggest. Smerdis of Tlön 15:00, 30 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
