Founded October 27, 1994, the station is owned by Hubbard Broadcasting and operated by KVIA-TV, a station owned by the News-Press & Gazette Company. KAEP's signature catchphrases, "Always On Time, Always on Top, Always El Paso," and "Nuestro Grito" was created by Jim Jackson.
