Jana Revedin
Jana Revedin is since 2010 associate professor in Sustainable Architecture at Umeå School of Architecture, Sweden. She studied in Buenos Aires, Princeton and at Milan Polytechnic, teaching since 1991 as Aldo Rossi’s assistant at the IUAV Venice, where in 1999 she obtained a PhD in Architecture and Town planning. She was guest professor at Federico II. University of Naples, FH Spittal and Beuth TH Berlin. From 1996 she runs her own architectural practice in Venice and in Villach, specialized in Sustainable Architecture. Jana Revedin is author of numerous works on the reformatory architecture of the Early German Moderns and recently published “Sustainable Design: Towards a new Ethic in Architecture and Town planning” (Birkhäuser). She is at present curator of the biennial gau:di European Student Competition for Sustainable Architecture and curator of the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture, that she founded in 2006. She created the LOCUS Foundation to run this Award in scientific independence and is member of the Boards of Blu in Architecture and the UNESCO World Heritage Centre.
