Rory Elrick (born 1995)[1][2] from Bowling, West Dunbartonshire[3] near Glasgow is Scottish child actor best known for starring as the title character Fletcher Moon in the CBBC television series Half Moon Investigations[4][5] based on the best-selling novels by Eoin Colfer.[6] He also appeared in Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself, which was directed by Lone Scherfig and written by Lone Scherfig and Anders Thomas Jensen.

He received a Pushkin Prize for literature in 2007.[7] In 2009 he was shortlisted in the category entertainment of the Young Scot Awards, an initiative of Sunday Mail and Lloyds TSB. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 9 April 2009.[8][9]

Public Speaking

Rory is the holder of the 2010/11 Rotary Club of Glasgow School's Public Speaking competition and is also the 2010/11 Glasgow Speakers' Club School's Public Speaking champion. Following winning these competitions, Rory was invited to speak alongside Will Hutton (the English writer, weekly columnist and former editor-in-chief for The Observer) at the Scottish Council for Development and Industry's annual Forum (2011) at the Fairmont Hotel in St Andrews, Scotland.
