Firoza is a small town in Liaquatpur, the tehsil of Rahim Yar Khan, Punjab, Pakistan.This place is situated in Rahim Yar Khan, Punjab, Pakistan, its geographical coordinates are 28° 45' 0" North, 70° 49' 0" East[1] and its original name (with diacritics) is Firoza.[2]
History
The town developed around the railway station. There are lots of stories famous about the name of the town. But the most popular among people is that it is named by the English after a woman who lived there. It is said that she served them well and they named the place after her as a reward of her services. Other famous story is that it is named because of stone found there called Firoza. But this does not seems a decent one as now there is no sign of any such stone.
Language
The native language is Saraiki as spoken by the majority of the population, while Punjabi is also used. Urdu and English are also increasingly used by the younger generation.

People & Culture
People of the town are very loving,caring and simple.They are known of their hospitality.Mostly People wear shalwar-qameez but Dhoti-kurta is also used by older fellows while young generation wear Western clothes.Villagers also use Turban.But you will see simplicity all around. Some of the souvenirs produced in the city include:
- Flassi - 4 ft by 7 ft, made of camel hair and cotton yarn; it is used for wall hanging, as a decoration piece and a carpet.
- Gindi or Rilli - Made of small pieces of many colors of cotton cloth and needlework; they can be used as wall hangings, bed covers, carpets and blankets.
- Changaries - Like big plaques, these are made of palm leaves in different bright colours with beautiful patterns and geometric designs. These are used for keeping the 'chapattis' and also as a wall decoration.
- Khalti - Like a purse embroidered on top with multicoloured threads.
- Artwork - An attractive type of embroidery done on dupatta, kurta and chaddar, etc.

One of the oldest educational institution of Firoza is Govt.Higher Secondary School Firoza. It was built in 1926 by
British Government as Primary School.After that it was given designation of secondary school in 1939.After Pakistan came into being this school started progressing with pace.So,Government announced it as High secondary schoolin 1952.Fromm 1952 to 1988 it remained as high school.Then,with efforts of many notable people it was given designation of Higher Secondary School.Now,it is working as higher secondary school.There came lots of ups and downs in the school history but school has given many notable person to the nation.The school now suffering under a problems like inadequate building where number of students is increasing day by day.
Professions
Most of the people are directly or indirectly related to Agriculture. This is renowned of cotton and mangoes. Rest of them are related to Trade and govt employment. Trade is most growing profession here because people from the nearby villages are investing here. Specially, people are shifting from villages of Cholistan Desert to Firoza. They are investing lot of money therefore trade is most rapidly increasing occupation here.
Sports
Popular Sports are Cricket, Kabaddi, Kushti, Football.Some of the other local games are gulli danda, ghoribella etc.
Tomb
It is said that there was an attack by non-Muslims that killed 22 Hafiz (Qur'an) and their teacher, Baba Bavi.Their tombs are located in the main graveyard of town.The main graveyard is in north of town.People here go to attend the religious activities.
