The Sky Is a Landfill

This is the first track on the posthumous Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk album release by Jeff Buckley.

It has a different tone to many songs in Grace, taking on a heavier, rocky sound. The lyrical content is similar to Eternal Life: It is believed to be a social commentary on the monotony of daily life; the dronelike effect in people, who don't stop to think about the state they're in.

Among many other points, he sings of the environment, the media, the political landscape, and overall the "Machine", that he references in the last chorus.

The song could be viewed as an Anti-Establishment outcry.
