Portions of this article sound very anti Carrera, particularly the bits about so called atrocities carried out on Argentine soil (May 25, 2011). |

To be be perfectly honest, theres just too many factual innaccuracies in the page, i will name all of them 1 by 1. I am a chilean citizen and student of all things related with Jose Miguel Carrera.
changes:
- 1-"excuted by command of Jose de San Martin": False, not necesarelly false but very misleading. San Martin, at the time Carrera was executed was in high Peru with O'Higgins. Carrera and San Martin never got along properly, thats true, but he even gaved a late pardon to his brothers (wich were still executed) AND offered Carrera an oportunity to serve the goverment as a castaway. Carrera, properly sayd, was executed by the Lautaro Lodge (to wich San Martin belonged to), and his biggest feud was not with San Martin, but with Pueyrredon and O'Higgins.
- 2-"colegio carolino" is actually called "convictorio carolino"
- 3-"joined the Lautaro Lodge": false, he joined the Cádiz order, wich was a proto-Lautaro Lodge. Carrera left for America before Miranda could stablish the Lautaro Lodge properly.
- 4-fixes here and there, particulary on the Disaster of Rancagua.
- 5-Carlos Maria Alvear, not Cesar Alvear
- 6-Poinsett did not helped him until the last hour, the biggest help was from David Porter.
- 7-San Martins' army was made mostly of slaves and argentinians, almost no chilean fought in the army that defeated the spaniards (as they were tricked into going to Alto Peru), also, O'Higgins did not organized the army with San Martin, it was mainly just him.
- 8-Its too simplistic, Carreras most brilliant hour came at almost the end of his time, hes a romantic figure and yet here is overly simplisctic about it.
Portions of this article sound very anti Carrera, particularly the bits about so called atrocities carried out on Argentine soil (May 25, 2011).
