The Actors' Gang is an experimental theatre group based in Los Angeles, California. It was founded in 1981 by a group of actors, including Tim Robbins, now a member of the board and Artistic Director of the troupe. The group states its mission is "to create bold, original works for the stage and daring reinterpretations of the classics". The Actors' Gang exclusive booking representative is David Lieberman Artists' Representatives (dlartists.com).
Productions
The group was the first to produce the off-Broadway musical Bat Boy: The Musical in 1997.
On 13 October 2006, the group began a tour of a new theatrical adaptation of the George Orwell novel 1984, which has played cities across North America, as well as Internationally in Hong Kong, Athens, Barcelona (Catalonia), Gasteiz, Bilbao (both in the Basque Country) and Melbourne.
The Actors' Gang is scheduled to open their new adaptation of Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels in July 2007.
