Snow Country (雪国, Yukiguni) is a 1957 black-and-white drama Japanese film directed by Shirō Toyoda based on the novel Snow Country written by the Nobel Prize winning author Kawabata Yasunari between 1937 and 1941. The film was entered into the 1958 Cannes Film Festival. [1]
