Esteban Efraín Paredes Quintanilla (born August 1, 1980 in Santiago, Chile) is a Chilean footballer who plays as Striker for Colo-Colo in Chilean Primera División.

Career

He has played in teams like Deportes Puerto Montt, Universidad de Concepción, Pachuca, Santiago Morning and Cobreloa.

Moreover he played at the Copa Libertadores 2004 with Universidad de Concepción.

He was the Top Scorer of 2009 Apertura with 17 goals.

In 2009 Colo Colo acquired Paredes for the Torneo Clausura 2009, he joined the club at the request of coach Hugo Tocalli. On July 25, 2009, Colo-Colo defeated Universidad de Concepción 3-1 with 3 goals all from Paredes.

National team

He played in friendly games for Chile in 2006 against Colombia and Peru. After a 3 year absence he returned to be a reglar in Marcelo Bielsa's call ups and went on to participate in the 2010 FIFA World Cup, where he assisted Mark González for Chile's only goal against Switzerland.
