Thanks for uploading :Image:Poirot's Early Cases.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy). |

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Night Thoughts (poem)
Hi, Sordel. I've moved the "Night Thoughts" article from Night Thoughts (Poem) to Night Thoughts (poem), because it's standard Wikipedia style to have the disambiguating term in lowercase. (The other "Night Thoughts", Night Thoughts (Doctor Who audio), is an exception because its disambiguating term, Doctor Who, is a proper noun.) I just wanted to explain the move. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 17:21, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
Welcome to Novels WikiProject
Hi, and welcome to the Novels WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to fiction books often refered to as "Novels".
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated quite regularly. You can watch it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including there.
While you are updating your userpage, don't forget our userbox User WikiProject Novels. - The project has a monthly newsletter; it will normally be delivered as a link, but other methods are available.
There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Starting some new articles? Our article structure guidelines / template outlines some things to include.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the members, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 09:13, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

Seems fine to me, added infobox - now needs 1st edition cover image. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 07:59, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for your contribution on this article. I hope you will make many more, as experts on the field of literature are scarce on Wikipedia; your expertise is very welcome. You asked me why I rated this article as Start-class, as you could see no possible ways of exapnding it. Here are some suggestions for expanding:
- how was this novel received by readers, press & critics, literature scholars?
- how does it compare to the other Poirot novels? to other Agatha Christie novels? to other detective novels?
- Were there any books, events or other things that influenced AC in writing this novel or choosing the subject?
- What was the influence of this novel on other writers or on society?
- Did the tv adaptation follow the novel to the letter, or were there any changes made?
- Did it win any awards?
- Do you have any sources to be added?
For some inspiration, see The Hound of the Baskervilles. Good luck! Errabee 10:48, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- Hi again, thanks for your votes on the Top-important page. Your votes were the first since August 25, so while I really appreciate your views, and also do think we need to come to some form of consensus which novels should be rated Top-important, it does seem that it is too early to tell right now. The process of assigning ratings is uncoordinated and everybody can rate novels as Top-important, bypassing the discussion that I tried to set up.
- I consulted Kevinalewis about this (see here) and his response), and we agreed that the current user base who seem to really care is not large enough just now. So we changed tack: we simply let the process go on, and when the time comes that it really matters, we will adopt another procedure and reevaluate if necessary. Invite to consider Novels WikiProject Collaborations
Hi, as you have been contributing to a number of novels articles recently I would personally like to invite you to have a look at and consider participating in, our WikiProject Novels Collaboration department.
We propose articles to have a concerted effort at and once agreed edit away to make as many improvements as we can.!!
We look forward to possibly gaining the benefit of your input! :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 11:28, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
- indeed, no membership as such - contribute as often and as much as you can - many of us glean a lot of our information from the web, but specialist literature (reference material) is always useful. Any way thanks for the positive reponse. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 12:00, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

Your work on this article looks first rate to me - I would nominate it for GA status if I were you and see what people suggest. I have taken the liberty of trimming the size of the supporting images a little and moving a couple to the left. I think is better balances the text out. Nice one! :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 07:41, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
- First time I've heard that, but you may be right, have a check on the GA pages. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 08:14, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Cards on the Table.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Cards on the Table.jpg.

AfD nomination of Plot devices in Agatha Christie's novels
An editor has nominated Plot devices in Agatha Christie's novels, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Plot devices in Agatha Christie's novels and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 15:59, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

Calling all active WP:NOVELS members
WikiProject Novels is currently holding a roll call, which we hope to have annually. Your username is listed on the members list, but we are unsure as to which editors are still active within the project. If you still consider yourself an active WP:Novels editor, please add your name back to the Active Members list. Also feel free to join any of our task forces and take a look at the project's Job Centre to get involved!
Next month we will begin the coordinator election selection process. We hope to have more involvement and input this time around! More news will be forthcoming. Thanks, everyone! María (habla conmigo) 13:41, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
