Karl Ian McCartney (born 25 October 1968, Birkenhead) is a politician in the United Kingdom. He is Conservative Party member of Parliament for Lincoln, and was first elected in 2010.
Early life
He went to Birkenhead School from 1980-6. He studied Geography at St David's College in Lampeter (now University of Wales, Lampeter) from 1988, where he became the student union president from 1991-2. He captained the Welsh Universities First XI football team from 1990-1. He completed an MBA from Kingston Business School in 1999.
He worked in the City of London from 1992. He has been a magistrate since 1999. From November 2007 he has been the Campaign Director of the Sir Keith Park Memorial Campaign.
Parliamentary career
He was elected to parliament on 7 May 2010.
