Get Your Heart On! is the fourth studio album by Simple Plan, set for release on June 21, 2011.
Writing and recording
Before any specific information was told about the album two demo tracks called "Famous for Nothing" and "Just Around the Corner" were leaked. It was announced by the band that "Just Around the Corner" would not be a part of their upcoming album. When the album track listing was announced it was confirmed that neither tracks would be on the album.
Release and promotion
Prior to the release of the album, the band started playing the song "You Suck at Love" live during the Bamboozle Roadshow Tour in June 2010 and on February 11, 2011 the band released a snippet preview of the studio version of the song on their website and youtube page, the song was therefor speculated to be the first single of the album. On March 30 the band announced that they'd been shooting videos the songs "Can't Keep My Hands Off You" and "Astronaut".[2]
The band then on March 31 released "Can't Keep My Hands Off You" on their website and youtube page. The song features guest vocals by Rivers Cuomo from Weezer.[3] On April 4 a behind the scenes video off the music video was released on their website and youtube page.[4] The song was released as a single on iTunes on April 19.[5] The day after on April 20 the music video for the song premiered on their website and youtube page.[6] Rivers Cuomo did not appear in the video.[7]
Although released as a single on iTunes "Can't Keep My Hands Off You" was only a promotional single, while the first official single was the song called "Jet Lag" released on April 25, 2011, and features guest vocals by British pop singer Natasha Bedingfield, although another version in French was also recorded with guest vocals by French-Canadian singer Marie-Mai.
On May 16 the music video for the French version of "Jet Lag" featuring Marie-Mai premiered on the bands youtube page.[8]
On May 17 the band announced that the fans who pre-order Get Your Heart On!'s Ultimate or Premium Bundle will get a download of the song "Loser of the Year" on May 22.[9]
On June 3rd the band played "Last One Standing" for the first time at the concert in Poland, Warsaw
