== Sexuality ==

Is Graham Norton openly gay? The reference given (reference 10) is not a reliable source for this.

Revision as of 22:04, 13 June 2011

Guests

I don't really agree that Graham Norton's guests are specifically chosen to appeal to a gay and lesbian audience. He wouldn't have the durability or the ratings he's had if his appeal was just to gay and lesbian viewers. I want to modify that phrase.

Agreed. Most of his guests seem to be heterosexual anyway.

Defect

He then signed a huge contract to defect to the BBC on his return to the UK.

Why isn't defect linking to the right defect (probably the last), but just to the disambiguation page of defect?

Photo would be nice

This article needs a photo. I don't have a photo with full public rights, and I am not sure about the ones you find on online magazines (mostly don't know how to find the source). Can anyone help? Lag 13:38, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

TV appearances

Graham also made a cameo appearance on the U.S. show Queer Eye (For The Straight Guy) in one of the episodes set in England.

He also lent his voice to one of the living plastic models in the 2005 series of doctor who, thus making a brief cameo even though only his voice was heard and his body was not seen, so shall i add that into tv appearances?

Added tag

There are a lot of unreferenced citations, viz "performance as Father Noel proved a massive hit with viewers", "His Channel 4 programmes have won a record number of comedy awards." etc - some of it also reads like an autobiography. Need a separate article on Scott Michaels

Schooling

I removed the section stating that his school was a 'single sex school'. It may well be true, but I disliked the way someone included that as if to allude something sinister went on there, just because he is gay. It's not relevant to the article in the slightest and does not make a blind bit of difference to anything, IMO. 213.218.238.225 19:58, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mugging

i think that this article should include the fact that whilst graham was being mugged years ago he was stabbed and nearly died[1] Risteard B 00:03, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you're going to add it, at least add it in a coherent fashion. When I read it I thought someone had vandalized the article writing that he was dead. IMDB is also not a reliable source. Ryokashi (talk) 22:27, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Church of Ireland?

I'm surprised to read that he is a "member" of any church, since in his autobiography he says that he had only a very brief relationship with religion, and that as a child. Is the contributor sure Norton is a member of a church? It seems "so" unlike him. -88.110.176.254 09:06, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed that bit, since not only in his autobiography but also in the interview linked on the article, he says he's not religious. -88.110.174.194 15:41, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On this island as in many other parts of the world many people claim to be Protestant, Catholic or whatever but aren't religious. Ireland is full of such people, heck i'm one of them. Unless he has publically said that he left the Church of Ireland and is actively agnostic or Atheist then it should remain. I myself was a member of the Church of Ireland but am publically Atheist. Father Ted

Do you think the page realy needs the father ted box? He only played a minor part and it has only been a smal part of his career. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 3.14 etc (talkcontribs) 13:59:14, August 19, 2007 (UTC).

It might have been small but he is well remembered for his skits in the three episodes he was in. His character was very likeable in the series. Mabuska (talk) 23:22, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

His character even has his own page: Father Noel FurlongAshleyvh (talk) 20:19, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Other bits

The biography section i want to bring back as i think its important that the fact he was mugged and left for dead and how hard he said it was to grow up a Protestant never mind a gay in Ireland are put back in. Mabuska (talk) 14:28, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Birthplace

Norton himself just admitted that he was born in Dublin on the Chris Moyles Show on Radio 1. Where did you guys hear that he was born in County Cork? – PeeJay 07:50, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Carnal Knowledge

I remember Graeme Norton presenting ITV Night Time show Carnal Knowledge, it must have been in the early 90's. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Footix2 (talkcontribs) 18:26, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
