Christian Home & Bible School, also known as Mount Dora Bible, is a private[2], coeducational pre-K2 through grade 12 school located in Mount Dora, Florida. Founded in 1945, Christian Home & Bible School is affiliated with, but not directed or funded by, the Churches of Christ. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and National Christian School Association.
Christian Home & Bible School is a two-part organization.[3] The Children's Home includes four residential group homes for hurting and needy children. A set of houseparents lives in each residential home. Living on campus, the children are given clothes, meals, professional counseling by licensed therapists, and receive free enrollment in the school. Foster home care and adoption services are also provided (Mt. Dora Children's Home is licensed and accredited as an adoption agency). The school offers a college preparatory curriculum on a 70-acre campus. The school's mission is "Educating for Life and Eternity" and provides daily chapel and Bible classes.
Curriculum
Christian Home & Bible School uses State of Florida adopted curriculum adhering to the Sunshine State Standards. Standardized tests are administered in March each academic year 9th-11th grades. The PSAT/NMSQT is administered in October each year to 10th and 11th grades.
CH&BS operates on a two semester calendar year. Each semester is composed of two nine week sessions, culminating with a comprehensive final examination. Students are enrolled in seven classes per day.
