Template:Totallydisputed Chuluaqui Quodoushka (CHOO-la-kway Kwuh-DOE-shka) is a set of New Age teachings on sex which are claimed to be handed down from ancient cultures such as the Olmecs, the Mayans, the Toltec, and some secret societies within the Cherokee Nation. Others claim, however, that Chuluaqui Quodoushka is only the creation of Harley Reagan, who runs "Sacred Sex Workshops" offering to teach this ancient wisdom; the Cherokee Nation, supposedly the source of Reagan's Chuluaqui Quodoushka teachings, disowns it entirely and disputes Reagan's claims to be half-Cherokee.
(CHOO-la-kway Kwuh-DOE-shka) (Also known as the "Q" to it's adherents) Sexual rites of passage are the foundation of the lineage from the Olmecs, Mayans and some secret societies within the Cherokee Nation. As a child moves into adulthood, rites of passage have been part of most indigenous peoples traditions. This ceremony ensured a secure and stable society. Honor was given to the child turned adult as females began to menstruate (moon cycles) and men began to ejaculate (semen).
Chuluaqui Quodoushka can be used to awaken your natural self, for healing of fear and shame. It can be used to eliminate repression.and to transform you into your ' magickal self'. It will hep you live in a balanced and sensuous wayand allow you to give with your emotions. It will catalyze your sexual soul. Chuluaqui Quodoushka teachings and guided exercises, rituals and ceremonies are credited with allowing the person to improve relationships, both with themelves and with others. They will allow to you reach higher levels of orgasm and sexual ecstasy. It will also teach you how to balance yourr feminine and masculine sides and gain knowledge of genital anatomy shapes. They teach that there are seven different types of genital anatomy.
At least, that is what many websites on the Internet would have you believe. In reality, this is another sex workshop with dubious credibility and a long history of questionable practices. There is a strong implication in the above worded text that it is acceptable to inititate young people into sex.
Dubious Credentials
- Despite the claims that the Chuluaqui Quodoushka is based on ancient traditions there is no corroborating evidence.
- Much of the Maya religious tradition is still not understood by scholars and a search for Mayan sex rituals reveals no information. The implication of there being no information is that they cannot have had anything to with Sex Ceremonies.
- The Olmecs were a people in Mexico who predated the Aztecs. Their culture disappeared and the only clues left about them are some stone statues and heiroglyphic carvings. Olmec mythology has left no documents and therefore cannot have anything to do with Sex Ceremonies.
- There are also claims that the teachings are also Toltec in origin, also unsubstantiated.
- The Cherokee Nation denies any involvement in the Chuluaqui-Quodoushka. Harley Reagan appeared on the Home Box Office's program Real Sex in America in 1992, promoting his sex therapy "Quodoushka" as a Cherokee ritual. The chief of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma at the time, Wilma Mankiller, threatened to sue HBO for misrepresentation, and a resolution was passed by the Cherokee condemning Reagan and other "plastic shamans". Reagan later claimed that Quodoushka is a blend of many ancient sexual traditions to avoid a lawsuit.
Most informed people know that the Chuluaqui Quodoushka was invented in the mid to late 1980's by Harley Reagan. A supposedly half-Irish half-Cherokee man who has made many far-fetched claims including visiting other dimensions and surviving a 300 foot fall. He is known to have said "The first thing I tell my students, is don't believe anything I say. You'd be a fool to."
What it is
- The Chuluaqui-Quodoushka is clearly based on the Kama Sutra. Much of it refers to one or more of the Chakra an East Indian term. The "Q" workshops have been known to utilise prostitutes and or impressionable people as teachers or assistants to demonstrate the lessons. These demonstrations include male and female masturbation techniques and close up examinations to show differeces in the shapes of genitalia.
Many of the masturbation techniques have been taken from the book Erotic Massage by Kenneth Ray Stubbs. This is acknowledged in the Chuluaqui-Quodoushka course manual. During the Chuluaqui-Quodoushka actual sexual intercourse does take place as part of the classes.
How it works
Exactly like Tantra, Chuluaqui-Quodoushka is a form of hypnosis. Having the clients stare into the other person's eyes, while pracricing rhythmic breathing and guiding the person's thoughts through "rituals", "ceremonies" and other 'excercises" a form of hypnosis occurs. This is one of the reasons, most of these sex workshops emphasize breathing techniques and "visualizing" energy etc. This helps to make sure the client is open to suggestion. The result is that the clients falsely perceive an improvement in their sexuality and responses to their partner. Frequently, their actions during sex becomes rigid and almost automatic as it becomes part of their sexual activity. This often results in less satisfaction for the client as well as his/her partners. Often the client feels that by attending more workshops they will improve their sexuality even more. Repeat clients usually become more and more driven to participate in the "Q" again and again as the repeated exposure reinforces the suggestive effects of the hypnosis. Frequently, clients are reluctant to speak of what happens in the "Q" and describe it as being unable to explain unless you understand the 'ceremony' or 'energy'. Some clients swear by the amazing experiences of Chuluaqui-Quodoushka and Tantra, while most who try it once find that it is an annoyingly complicated process that does little to justify the cost. Like hypnosis, which is honestly labeled for what it is, Chuluaqui-Quodoushka will affect some highly suggestible people greatly, some mildly, and many not at all. According to decades of research, 10 to 15 percent of adults are highly hypnotizable, said Dr. David Spiegel, a psychiatrist at Stanford who studies the clinical uses of hypnosis. Up to age 12, however, 80 to 85 percent of children are highly hypnotizable. One adult in five is flat out resistant to hypnosis, Dr. Spiegel said. The rest are in between, he said.
Cult Links
Also as part of the "Q" are cult techniques for breaking the will of new members, such as having groups of men sexually assault one woman, or having heterosexual men submit to a male cult leader's advances. Sometimes, by the use of drugs, trances and heat, women are subjected to sexual assaults and rape without being aware it has happened. They are often unaware of such events until years later, when they try to seek medical help or counselling for sexual problems such as being unable to orgasm with their partner. Often the more impressionable ones don't realise until, often years later, that they have been degrading themselves sexually in front of other people while the organizers are quietly laughing at them. Often cults also employ nudity and sex as part of their other ceremonies. A common one is the Nude Sweatlodge. Again, it's all part of the control factor. If people can be convinced that nudity is necessary, then it shows they are impressionable to other fraudulent practices.
Those in favour
Many of the clients of this sex workshop have high praise for it. On the Internet it is very easy to find a lot of people who claim to have benefitted fom it. There are several points to remember however.
- Most of the websites where postings praising the "Q" are found, are making money from it or from similar sex workshops. They are not going to post any negative reports.
- Many of the people who have been vicitimzed by these so called workshops have been subjected to intense conditioning and have been effectivley brainwashed by it.
- Many people who have been to these workshops are embarrassed and not likely to go public with tales of their foolishness, sexual degradation, public nudity and their own gullibility.
Beyond that however there are those who do claim it has helped them. Some of the websites advertising the workshops do have quoted references from people who claim the workshops have helped them. Obviously too, the wortkshops do continue to sell. Whether or not this due to new people just finding out, or due to a number of repeat clients is impossible to know.
In the Movies
A Hard-Core Porn movie called Quodoushka, Native American Love Techniques (or Quodoushka) came out in 1991 distributed by Vivid Video and starring such hard-core porn actresses as Ashley Nicole , Heather Hart , Hyapatia Lee , Madison.
