Lovejoy (The Lovejoy Mysteries in the U.S.) was a series of picaresque novels by John Grant (under the pen name Jonathan Gash) about the adventures of Lovejoy, an antiques dealer, in East Anglia. Lovejoy's first name is never mentioned.
The novels were made into a popular drama series shown on British television from 1986-1994. The lechery and violence in the novels was watered down considerably for television.
