Jared Waerea-Hargreaves (pronounced:why-reh-ah har-graves) is a rugby league player currently with the Sydney Roosters in the National Rugby League (NRL). He plays in the second-row.[1]
Playing career
Waerea-Hargreaves first made a name for himself playing schoolboy rugby union at Iona College in Queensland, through some impressive performances in the AIC competition, he made the AIC rep side versing the GPS rep side. He credits a lot of his success to mentor/school teacher who guided him through his junior years. As a rugby union player and had joined the Waratahs Academy in Sydney. He played for Australia at the 2007 U/19 rugby world cup in Ireland alongside Super 14 players such as Dan Palmer and Pat McCabe and Blair Connor. He was later signed by Manly's recruitment manager, Noel Cleal despite never having played rugby league.[2] He made his first-grade debut against the Brisbane Broncos in May, 2009.[3]

Representative career
In 2009 Waerea-Hargreaves was selected as part of the New Zealand Kiwis Four Nations squad and made his debut against Tonga.[4]
