At the Cape May Zoo, the signs refer to this tortoise as ''Geochelone gigatea'', which contradicts this article and [[Geochelone]]. :The zoo is out of date but Wikipedia possibly is also. According to turtles working group (http://www.iucn-tftsg.org/wp-content/uploads/file/Accounts/crm_5_000_checklist_v3_2010.pdf) dec 2010, page 000.116 it can be one of two, the article does not explain it or the previous naming. Aldabra tortoises mating
I saw a pair of these animals breeding at the Oakland Zoo on Sunday, October 21, 2007. You never saw such a crowd of mesmerized, fascinated, and horrified zoogoers. Let's just say that the male gets very vocal in a way I would not have thought physiologically possible. I just hope I can get this memory out of my mind someday. Naturally occuring or the result of human intervention? This is a useful point that should be addressed in the article.--Wetman (talk) 13:09, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
