Aldabra tortoises mating

I saw a pair of these animals breeding at the Oakland Zoo on Sunday, October 21, 2007. You never saw such a crowd of mesmerized, fascinated, and horrified zoogoers. Let's just say that the male gets very vocal in a way I would not have thought physiologically possible. I just hope I can get this memory out of my mind someday. Genus

At the Cape May Zoo, the signs refer to this tortoise as Geochelone gigatea, which contradicts this article and Geochelone. Does the zoo have old or incorrect information, or does Wikipedia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.94.61.91 (talk) 20:45, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The zoo is out of date but Wikipedia possibly is also. According to turtles working group (http://www.iucn-tftsg.org/wp-content/uploads/file/Accounts/crm_5_000_checklist_v3_2010.pdf) dec 2010, page 000.116 it can be one of two, the article does not explain it or the previous naming.
