Sosialistisk Ungdom (Socialist Youth) is the youth league of the Socialist Left Party of Norway. It has about 2500 members and is expanding rapidly. The current head of the organisation is Audun Herning. SU is revolutionary and wants to gain popular support for socialism in Norway. In this respect they differ somewhat from SV, the mother party.

SU has gained support from many young Norwegians, in part thanks to their clear standpoints and forceful rhetoric, and it has gained recognition for some of their main policies. Norwegian students do not have free education and pay up to 1000 dollars each year for school equipment at secondary school level, depending on their courses. SU has always been very clear with its demands that education should be free and for all. Among other things that have given SU support is their fight against sexual harassment and for better working rights, particularly for apprentices and young workers. SU has also worked to promote peace, particularly post 11/9. The fight against racism has also become increasingly important for SU, especially considering how the conservative right-wing Fremskrittspartiet has won a lot of political ground in Norway lately, with strict policies regarding immigration laws.
