Welcome!

Hello, Petersgoldpan, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as The Royal Group, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Fly by Night (talk) 02:35, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Royal Group, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Fly by Night (talk) 02:35, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Elaboration

If you double click on the Kith Meng image, or go directly to it here, then scroll down, you will see the note on the page:

This image was originally posted to Flickr. It has been reviewed on 15:19, 1 July 2011 (UTC) by the automated bot FlickreviewR. The image was however no longer available on Flickr, and its copyright status thus undeterminable.

At some time, someone may follow up on this and decide that without a clean expression of copyright, the image should be removed. I don't know whether this is a picture you took, or whether it was posted on Flickr with an acceptable license, but you will probably need to address it at some time.--SPhilbrickT 11:57, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

May I pop in here and add that the image is also on the Bloomberg article ([1]) but does not include any other licensing/copyright information, just the standard "All Rights Reserved" at the bottom of the page. ... discospinster talk 16:40, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Another Douglas Clayton sockpuppet

Reviewing the behavior of this account, it appaears to be yet another sockpuppet for Douglas Clayton. |► ϋrбanяeneωaℓTALK ◄| 20:42, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your name has been mentioned in connection with a sockpuppetry case. Please refer to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Douglasclayton for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to cases before editing the evidence page. |► ϋrбanяeneωaℓTALK ◄| 20:42, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re your note at my talk page

I think this may be much ado about nothing. The case appears to be closed (Caveat, I don't do much work on the sockpuppet area, so I may be misreading some things.) I see a notice that you are going to be added, but I don't think that you were ever added. I think your name came up because you were editing one of the articles being edited by one of the suspected editors. However, if you have been cleared, I think they owe you a notice. I'll look into it further.--SPhilbrickT 11:34, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet Proposal

Proposal

  • In my view, it is pretty obvious that you are simply engaging a new account to do the same things that created the issues several months back. However, I will attempt to assume good faith. I would suggest you first focus on topics unrelated to (i) Leopard Capital, (ii) related personnel, and (iii) related investments and businesses. If, as you suggest, you really have a genuine interest in various topics not based on WP:COI then I will not press this further. However, if you continue to make edits that are substantilly promotional, I am going to press this further. Please be aware that I already watch every one of the articles that have been of interest to this group of accounts. I will also keep track of any new editor that edits these articles. |► ϋrбanяeneωaℓTALK ◄| 03:43, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Petersgoldpan's Acceptance

Acceptance

Hi User:Urbanrenewal

Thanks for the good faith, I assure you I simply wish to contribute to the (impartial) promotion of Cambodia (I used to live there) by helping to fill in the gaps so to speak, with a particular view to what I consider its increasingly noteworthy yet under-represented economy.

Following your accusation I intentionally refrained from adding new information to Leopard Capital's entry because, like I say, I want my account kept unblemished to maintain the one history so hopefully my work can be appreciated in future.

Though I do believe adding to Leopard Capital's entry is quite justified based on its aforementioned significance, I'm not fussed by contending myself with contributing towards this area in line with your suggestions: topics unrelated to (i) Leopard Capital, (ii) related personnel, and (iii) related investments and businesses. But I must for honesty's sake say, I do envisage myself addressing you in future about adding to various Wiki's relating to (i) (ii) and (iii). This isn't due any conflicting interests of mine, but mainly because Cambodia's principal influential drivers of growth are still rather small in number relative to the population size, who's per capita GDP according to the government's 2010 estimates, remember, is USD$783. Therefore, focusing on the nation's principal actors most enabling present and future growth can become slightly problematic, as we have seen...but such is the unavoidable nature of small yet complex "frontier markets" - everything must start from somewhere, after all.

  • One question about your suggestions I need ask, however, is: Despite the topic of Cambodia's economy NOT being unrelated to (i), I suppose you're still in good faith allowing me to contribute to Wiki's directly to do with Cambodia's economy? Or am I misinterpreting you? Please, so I don't over step your suggestions User:Urbanrenewal, can you clarify my uncertainty about this (i) point.

Hopefully it will become clearer to you that I in fact have no conflict of interest. I'd appreciate the freedom to contribute like a normal user following an accumulated history of contributions demonstrating my sincere interest in this area as a whole.

Cheers

  • I woud suggest you stay away from the following companies and any related individuals:
    • Leopard Capital
    • CamGSM
    • ACLEDA Bank
    • Kingdom Breweries
    • Nautisco Seafood
    • Angkor Residences
    • Intean Poalroath Rongroeurng (IPR)
    • Greenside Holdings
    • The Royal Group

If you can do this, I don't see that we will have any issues.|► ϋrбanяeneωaℓTALK ◄| 01:38, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

URs Suggestions

User:Urbanrenewal,

No problems, but in future I will address you about your discouraging me from detailing the activities of Cambodia's leading business personality, a restriction I believe I can reasonably say is overly-restrictive when inserting quality sourced, verifiable facts told in neutral tone according with Wikipedia's standards. Perhaps your overly-restrictive suggestions, about what I can or cannot contribute to, are themselves defensive measures serving your own conflict of interest? Though this seems highly unlikely, hopefully by my saying so you can better understand my point of view, which sees all of this as irrational and unjustified. It doesn't help that you have been vague in your accusation of me, of course.

After all, as User:Discospinster stated: User:Urbanrenewal detailed no "specifics about [Petersgoldpan's] accusation", whilst "I'm not seeing anything that would implicate you", Petersgoldpan. If you care to address these two points raised by administrator Discospinster, or suggest another person with whom I can speak to resolving this matter, I would be grateful

You've already shown good faith for which I'm thankful and hopeful can continue: this caught your attention, remember, because I sought to improve an article by making it

  • more neutral in tone
  • better sourced/cited
  • shorter in length to avoid hyperbole

?

With your overviewing my contributions, why can't I continue making similar such repairs, to improve articles? Engaging you from time to time on ways to ensure neutrality and high quality contributions would actually be something I would appreciate, considering your various awards I see on your own Wikipage
