The reboot of the DC Universe in an upcoming publishing event following the conclusion of the current Flashpoint crossover. It will entail changes to both the publishing format and fictional universe. Publishing changes include same day release of physical comics with digital platforms, all DC Universe titles being cancelled or restarted at a new issue 1, the former Wildstorm imprint being rolled into the greater DC Universe and a number of new titles being released to round the number of ongoing series being published on a monthly basis up to 52. It will be also accompanied by a number of in universe changes designed to make characters more modern and accessible, though the severity of the changes will vary from character to character.[1]
Relaunch
Following Flashpoint, all DC titles will be renumbered and relaunched with new #1 issues.[2] The new continuity will have new outfits, back history, and stories for many of its long established heroes and villains. An interview with DC Comics executive editor Eddie Berganza and editor-in-chief Bob Harras reveal that the new continuity does not constitute a full reboot of the DC Universe but rather a "soft reboot". While many characters will undergo a reboot or revamp, much of DC Universe history will remain intact with many major storylines such as Blackest Night, Brightest Day, Batman: A Death in the Family and Batman: The Killing Joke still very much part of the continuity. DC editorial has also constructed a timeline that details the new history and which storylines to keep or ignore.[3]
Justice League
These were billed as The New Justice[4]
- Justice League #1, written by Geoff Johns and drawn by Jim Lee.
- Justice League International #1, written by Dan Jurgens and drawn by Aaron Lopresti.

Justice League serves to headline the reboot. The series' first story arc is described as taking place in the past during the dawn of superheroes, about five years from the present and will detail the first meeting of the Justice League members.[6]
Batman
Much of Batman's history and timeline will remain intact. He has been already operating in secret several years before Superman's public debut. This is such that all the Robins have been accounted for and that Barbara Gordon will have spent time as Oracle and has recently come back as Batgirl. The stories will build on recent developments and Bruce Wayne will, once again, be the one and only Batman.[7]

A title that is absent from the Batman relaunch is Grant Morrison's short-lived Batman Incorporated, which according to Morrison will relaunch sometime in 2012 to complete the Leviathan storyline.[9]
Superman
These were billed as History Happens Now. Superman is reinstated as the world's first superhero and with a much changed status quo. His marriage with Lois Lane has never happened and he will be a bachelor. There will be an emphasis on his alien nature and how it isolates him from humanity.[10][11]
- Action Comics #1, written by Grant Morrison and drawn by Rags Morales.
- Superman #1, written by George Perez and drawn by Jesus Merino.
- Superboy #1, written by Scott Lobdell and drawn by R.B. Silva.
- Supergirl #1, written by Michael Green and Mike Johnson and drawn by Mahmud Asrar.[12]
Action Comics' first story arc will detail Superman's rebooted history while Superman will feature his present adventures. Superman's new costume is explained as a ceremonial battle armor that pays tribute to his Kryptonian past.[13]
