Plot
Fedora Garces's life was perfect, until somebody killed her husband, took her children, her fortune and her entire life from her. Octavia was the killer, and also sent Fedora to prison for the crime. Years later Diana, and her younger sister Gaby, went to work in the Irazábal mansion. Diana worked as a nurse for Doña Santa. Gaby, Diana's younger sister, worked as a maid in the Mansion, fell in love with Octavia's son Larry. When Bruna discovered Gaby's letters to Larry, she burned them. Larry was angry with Bruna, and eventually married Gaby in Las Vegas, only because out of grief for his previous fiancee who had left him at the altar.
Diana fell in love with Maximiliano, the oldest of the Irazabal siblings, but Maximiliano is struck by a strange suspicion that he's seen her somewhere before. And indeed he has. His closest friend, Dr. Ignacio Montiel, attempted to rape her, and she fought back, nearly burning down the apartment complex where Ignacio lived. He saw her being led away in handcuffs, falsely accused of attempted murder. Maximiliano turned against her when he discovered the truth and that she was about to go on trial for the crime, but they reconciled when it was discovered that Ignacio had perjured himself, as had several other witnesses testifying for him.
Fedora has made a comfortable life for herself as a singer in a local watering hole, but she desperately wants to find her two children and clear her name. Eventually, she does, and finds out that they are none other than Diana and Gaby! She also discovers that it was Octavia Irazabal who framed her and stole her fortune as revenge for having an affair with her husband. In grand fashion, la Gaviota kicks the Irazabal family out into the streets and takes back her perfume business from Octavia. Although she initially forbids Diana and Gaby from ever seeing the Irazabal brothers again, both men convince her of their true love for her daughters.
Diana's and Maximiliano's love is all consuming, and soon Diana reveals that she is pregnant with his son. She later married Diego, a man who was deeply in love with her, but she only saw as a friend. After the wedding, Ignacio shot Diego as revenge for losing the trial, leaving him paralyzed below the hips, and in a wheelchair. Marfil was left with a woman known as Isabel, the aunt of Deborah's husband Andrés. Marfil goes to Houston, so that she can receive special treatments, but she later returns to Miami to reclaim her rightful place. She kiddnaps Deborah, and locks her in a cabin. She eventually imprisons Diana there, too. Deborah managed to switch places with Marfil by knocking her unconscious. Marfil's original plans were to take her far away to a dangerous jungle, presumly the Amazon Rainforest. The plane that was taking Diana, Marfil, Andrez, and Ignacio crashed, but the four managed to survive. Andrez and Ignacio got in a fight, and shot Andrez in the leg. The they split up, Diana, trying to run, tripped, and got amnesia. She was found unconconcious by a man who working in a Convent. The others thought that Diana was lost, and presumed her to be dead. Diego's legs healed little by little, and eventually he was able walk. Maximiliano got enough information to figure out Diana's location in the jungle. They went to the convent, and there they found Diana, who was not fully healed from her amnesia. They escaped from the convent, and Max and Diana went back to Miami. Back in the jungle, Ignacio tried to drown Marfil, thinking she was Deborah. The same man who found Diana found Marfil, about to die in the river. Once in the convent, she disguised herself as a nun, and called Andres in Miami to come and save her. Deborah had already took Marfil's place. In an act of vengeance, Marfil kidnapped Deborah, locked her up in the same cabin, Andres threw gasoline all over the cabin, and burned the cabin down, leaving with Marfil. Max, who was in the hospital after an injury, had a vision in a dream of a woman who looked like Marfil, but was not her. Will her daughters fall into the claws of the Irazabal family? Everybody was trapped in each other's impossible love.
