Performing biography
New York (1995–2005)
In 1995, Scheer became a member of New York City's longest running Off-Broadway comedy show, Chicago City Limits. As a member of their touring company Scheer extensively traveled throughout the United States as well as overseas.
In 1998, he joined the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York City where he performed Sketch and Improvisation with Respecto Montalban, winners of the 2003 ECNY Award for "Best Improv Show." The group included such members as Rob Riggle, Rob Huebel, Jack McBrayer and Dannah Feinglass. They performed their unique brand of long form improvisation to sold out crowds every Saturday night for over five years and even collaborated Adam McKay (director/writer of Anchorman) on a political sketch comedy show called "George Bush is a Motherfucker".
In 2002 Scheer created/starred in "Automatic Vaudeville" at the Ars Nova Theater, which the Hollywood Reporter called "one of the top five shows in the country."
Los Angeles (since 2006)
Scheer is a regular performer at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles (UCBTLA).
Every Wednesday at 9:30PM he performs FACEBOOK, an improvised show based on audience member's Facebook profiles. The show was named the "Best Improv Show" by Los Angeles Magazine and has been profiled on Good Morning America. Cast members include Rob Riggle and Rob Huebel as well as frequent guest Jack McBrayer.
Every 1st and 3rd Monday of the Month at 11PM Scheer co-hosts Crash Test with Human Giant Alum Rob Huebel. Los Angeles Magazine calls the show "Extremely Funny...Several thumbs up" and MetroMix proclaims "Sketch Comedy doesn't get much funnier."
Scheer also occasionally performs a two person improv show with Jack McBrayer his 30 Rock nemesis.
Scheer and comedian Rob Riggle recently wrote and starred together in a series of filmed sketches called "Designated Driver" for the HBO sketch comedy program Funny or Die Presents, which began airing in February 2010. Scheer, Riggle and Rob Huebel also wrote and starred in a series of sketches for the second season, called "Death Hunt", which featured cameos from Jack McBrayer and Kathryn Hahn.
In December 2010, Scheer began hosting the comedy podcast How Did This Get Made? along with his wife June Raphael and comedian Jason Mantzoukas. The podcast is a roundtable discussion where Scheer, Raphael, Mantzoukas and other special guests try to make sense of terrible films.
Scheer's Adult Swim comedy-action series NTSF:SD:SUV:: began airing on July 21, 2011. The show started as a fake trailer shown in the first season on Childrens Hospital. The fake trailer also featured appearances by June Diane Raphael and Rob Riggle, who also co-star in the series with Scheer.
Career highlights
Human Giant
Around the summer of 2005, Scheer began collaborating with fellow comedians Rob Huebel and Aziz Ansari as well as director Jason Woliner to make short films. The first series created by the group was "Shutterbugs", which followed Huebel and Ansari as cutthroat child talent agents. This was followed up by the "Illusionators", which starred Ansari and Scheer as Criss Angel-style goth magicians. In mid-2006, MTV greenlit a sketch series from the group which debuted April 5, 2007.
The show has completed two seasons. The status of a third season is unknown. In interviews, the group has mentioned that they were offered a third season by MTV but were unable to complete it due to Ansari's commitments to the new NBC show Parks and Recreation. However, the group has stated that MTV has left the door open for the group to complete a third season at a later date or to produce a special for the network.
In November 2008, The Hollywood Reporter noted the group is currently developing a feature film with Red Hour Films, the production company run by Ben Stiller and producer Stuart Cornfeld. He was also featured in the music video of Army Navy's "My Thin Sides"
The League
The League is a sitcom, which premiered on FX on October 29, 2009. The series is a semi-scripted comedy about a fantasy football league. FX announced they are renewing The League for a second 13 episode season, that will air on Mid Summer 2010. Scheer plays Dr. Andre Nosik, a rich plastic surgeon whose naivety makes him the brunt of many jokes. His fantasy football team is named the "Double Ent-Andre's". He won the 5th season of the League in the show's first season.
Accolades
In 2006, Variety named Scheer one of the "Top 10 Comics to Watch" and AP Magazine hailed him as one of their favorite comedians.

Comic-Con
Scheer appeared during the 2009 Lost Comic-Con panel, waiting in line as part of the Q&A segment. Scheer presented his velvet painting, claiming he spent the last 6 months working on it. After naming his personal website DamonCarltonAndAPolarBear.com, named after his painting, Scheer handed the painting to Damon Lindelof.
Painting
Scheer sent a printed reproduction of his black velvet painting to two well-known bloggers, DocArzt and Peter Sciretta from SlashFilm, with an attached note.
Soon after, those two bloggers received a letter from "Ronie Midfew Arts", alerting them that Scheer was not authorized to create Lost-related artworks.

Collaboration
Scheer was invited by Midfew for a meeting, during which the two of them, along with Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, agreed to collaborate in order to create an experience for the Lost fans prior to season 6. Scheer's website now presents 16 frames, with each painting being revealed after a series of clues is presented.

Twitflix Controversy
Scheer, along with Mr. Show writer/performer Scott Aukerman and Human Giant co-stars Aziz Ansari & Rob Huebel, created controversy when they, using Twitter, live "tweeted" a midnight screening of the film Crank: High Voltage, in an event they called "Twitflix."[2] Aukerman, Scheer and Huebel had previously done this during the first screening of Fast & Furious held in D-BOX seats.[3] Harry Knowles from Ain't It Cool News wrote to them during the film, threatening them, upset with what they were doing. This was reported on several websites the next day.[4][5]
