Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. If you wish to have these privileges reinstated, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. <!-- Template:Inactive admin -->RL0919 (talk) 22:25, 9 July 2011 (UTC) |

A Play in One Act
Fringe Policeman No1: Good evening, Sir
Editor: (Tries to ignore FP1)
FP1: I see you're writing about someone who has a view.
Ed: Am I?
FP1: Oh indeed, you are sir. You are aware of WP:FRINGE sir?
Ed: Erm, that's about in depth theories which refute mainstream "scientific" opinion, this piece is a Biography and I've only mentioned that he has notable views on this and that, but not in depth and the details of his stuff aren't actually refuted.
Fringe Policeman No2: I just added them.
FP1: So you see, sir... your subject is a bit of fringe artist.
Ed: But no reliable sources say he is, your just comparing his outcome and saying it doesn't agree, look you've even misquoted the sources when you added his views.
FP2: Please don't make personal attacks, sir.
Ed: I'm not making a personal attack, your edit is not representing the sources.
FP1: Well we say it is, so that's an end to that.
Ed: (spends two hours correcting the text to better represent the sources and finally presses "save")
FP1: (to FP2) Did you see that?
FP2: (to FP1) Yeah, if no one else reverts it in half an hour, I'll revert with "take to talk" or some shit.
FP1: (to FP2) Cool dude.
Ed: Look, your whole premise is wrong guys.
FP1 and FP2 in unison: No it's not.
Ed: If you hadn't added the views, there wouldn't have even been a problem.
FP2: So, you admit there's a problem then sir, well we are making progress.
Ed: No I didn't mean that, I meant you created the problem in the first place.
FP2: Look, sonny, I've told you before about making personal attacks.
Ed: You've found the subject saying this thing in one source alone and are making a big thing out of it, this is a Biography for goodness sake, the view isn't even important!
FP1: He's saying things that could damage people, that's important.
FP2: It's a reliable source, and a view that cannot be denied to be his.
Ed: So quote him fairly then.
FP1: We don't need all that detail, sir, a summary will do. (snickers)
Ed: So you're saying it's not got much detail, then how come your applying WP:FRINGE, that says it's about articles that go into detail and it doesn't by your own admission.
FP2: Don't get all semantic on us, sonny, or you'll find yourself blocked for edit warring.
FP1: I don't like your tone, and it sounds familiar, I'm filing a sock puppet report right now.
FP2: (to FP1) I'll report him for edit warring.
FP1: (into radio) Base, I've got another kook for the notice board, we've done the preliminaries but it might need watching in case any of his kooky friends show up and try taking out any of our official fringe policing stuff.
Wow
I'm sure that's a jab at someone and I don't know the whole situation, nor do I want to get involved but I must say, that play is really funny. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 14:04, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
I mean, that person should be writing (if they are not already). The satire is superb. The humor is fantastic. Really. It's absolutely hilarious. I would read stuff by that person. Even if I didn't agree with the message. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 14:13, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
Hello Wiki alf! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 7 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 15 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the unreferencedBLP tag. Here is the list:
- Derek Morris - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Robert Beddard - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- David Charles (philosopher) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Fair use rationale for File:The Sky at Night.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:The Sky at Night.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 14:48, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Remembrance Sunday.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Remembrance Sunday.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add

, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Adambro (talk) 12:55, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Suspension of admin privileges due to inactivity
