I like ''your'' revision much better than my own. I ''knew'' that it was a third man, err, user, who had reverted me, and when I saw ''your'' edit, I was just as glad. Interesting is that it was his/her first edit in five weeks-and-some. Always nice to know that the wretchedness of one's prose is enough to wake the moribund, or fetch them forth from the tunnels below, as it were. Anyway, nice trim of this difficult summary (though I think it deserves 1200 words and was better at that length). Cheers. — [[User:HarringtonSmith|HarringtonSmith]] ([[User talk:HarringtonSmith|talk]]) 20:17, 12 August 2011 (UTC) |

I just created my first new Nudibranch Page from scratch. I would appreciate if you took a glance at it to see if it's acceptable as a expanded "stub", and of course if you would like to offer any suggestions. Thanks :-) |

Hello, and welcome to my user page's talk page; how can I help you? Please put your new post at the bottom of the page, and if you are a new editor, please remember to sign it with 4 of these "~". If you are talking about an article, please blue link the title of it. Thanks.
I have been contributing since the summer of 2007, but there are still many aspects of WP I know nothing or almost nothing about, so I am always interested in helpful suggestions. Thanks!

The Barnstar of Integrity | ||
For helping me so politely and encouraging me when I first joined the gastropods project, for your enthusiam in welcoming new members, and for the consistently calm, rational and patient way I have seen you interact with all other users on wikipedia, always keeping your cool and setting an example to me and others, I award Invertzoo the Barnstar of Integrity. It's raining kittens and barnstars!
Hi Invertzoo. Thank you very much for the barnstar (my first ever!) that you gave me today. It was a very pleasant and unexpected surprise. I'll take it as extra impetus to create all the remaining nudibranch articles still to go! And I promise to take good care of my new kitten too, :P Thank you very much. I hope that your husband recovers soon and that everything gets back to normal for you quickly over in "real" life. Best wishes, Antarctic-adventurer (talk) 21:59, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- By the way, I see from your many flags on your userpage that you spent "decades" in Kent. Is that where you are from? My home town is very close to Tunbridge Wells as it happens! Antarctic-adventurer (talk) 08:43, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

Name clash
Hi Susan, is the mollusc genus name Galeodes in use ? There is also a solifuge genus and the name is widely in use and probably has priority as it was described in 1791, before the mollusc. Shyamal (talk) 01:57, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

Alathyria profuga
Dear Zoo,
On Sunday I was most fortunate to visit a National Park I'd not seen before. By the river were attractive shells of a freshwater mussel. Michael Shea of the Australia Museum again was forthcoming with an identification. Alathyria profuga.
I must say, shells by the sea or by the river side are appealing indeed. And it was a beautiful day in the outdoors, in a sublime part of the world. I hope you and Mr Snek can improve on the stub of this species.

A second note from Ettore
Hello Invertzoo. First of all thank you of your message. I think perfectly the problem. To be completely sincere I draw the content of my articles from some italian books and from online links (...I always refer to the used external links), but I take the maximum care to rewrite everything,as you can assess by my scholastic English. I do not change just some words, at the maximum I use one or two of the same words. But words are free, is'n it?
Do you think I can continue in such a way? Anyway if you want rewrite somethin, I will appreciete. Ciao. Ettore —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ettore Balocchi (talk • contribs) 17:45, 22 May 2011 (UTC)

Yet another article
Hi Susan, here's my latest article: Jewish response to The Forty Days of Musa Dagh, and I am not going to write another one for the next few days :-) Anyway, if you have a time and a wish to copy-edit it, I will appreciate your help very much. If you do not, that's alright of course. Best.--Mbz1 (talk) 05:32, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
- What does the word mean? Hi - I'd be happy to be rid of Eucosmia if it is of no use. My only interest in it is its similar spelling to Eucosma, Euosmia, etc. I tried to find a definition for eucosmia but it is not in Wiktionary or any other online dictionaries or other etymology resources as far as I can tell. Is it a Latin or Greek word? The only reference I could find was that it means "decorum" from Pythagoras of Samos (ca. 570–496 B.C.) [1]. But I'm no expert on molluscs or Greek/Latin words, so its your call! (I'll post this on Invertzoo's talk page too). Thanks, Facts707 (talk) 18:31, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

Snail identification
Greetings Invertzoo, how are you doing? I hope that things are getting better for you and your husband. Today I finally got around to uploading three photos I took of a snail last year when I was in Ubud, Bali. I know virtually nothing about land gastropods, and so wondered if you could identify the species I took? I apologise if that isn't a very realistic proposition though! As you know, nudibranchs are so colourful that with the exceptions of a few cases, it is usually possible to identify them from photos alone. I have no idea how easy that is with snails. Anyway, if you think the photos are useful or new, naturally feel free to add them anywhere you see fit. Best wishes Antarctic-adventurer (talk) 13:09, 4 June 2011 (UTC)

- Hi Antartic-adventurer, Thanks, we are both doing OK but not quite back to normal yet. Very nice images you made! It looks as if you saw a giant African land snail, Achatina fulica, which unfortunately has been accidentally introduced (as eggs in soil with potted plants) to Asia and to other tropical areas of the world, including south Florida. I say unfortunate because this thing is a very serious pest to agriculture. (I suppose this might actually be one of the other species of Achatina, I don't know really how to differentiate them. But it's definitely an Achatina and it does look like A. fulica.) All good wishes to you, Invertzoo (talk) 13:29, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for your quick reply and identification! Interesting snail. According to the Japanese page, it can be quite harmful to humans and is listed in the IUCN top 100 list of invasive species. (The information on its poison doesn't seem to be in the English article though). I took the intiative of adding one of the images to the article. If you think it is inappropriate naturally feel free to remove it. Meanwhile, I'll stay on the look out for more snails! Antarctic-adventurer (talk) 18:00, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
- I removed the other image in the taxobox because yours is much better looking and in better focus. I believe it is perhaps not correct that these snails are poisonous? I think maybe it is the parasites that they carry that make them dangerous to eat rather than any poisonous substance? Yes please do look out for other snails! They do tend to be rather small and inconspicuous compared to that giant though. But we will be happy to see them regardless of how tiny they are. Slugs too are good subjects for images although if they are found in developed areas, some of those will also be introduced pest species. Best wishes to you, Invertzoo (talk) 18:19, 4 June 2011 (UTC)

DYK for Bolo Pasha
On 4 June 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Bolo Pasha, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Bolo Pasha, a Frenchman with an Egyptian title, was convicted and executed in France in 1918 for being a German spy using evidence collected by the New York Attorney General? Infraorder Anthobranchia
Hi Invertzoo. I wonder if I may ask you a taxonomic related question? In the Taxonomy section of the nudibranch article, it mentions that the animals are divided into 2 infraorders, Cladobranchia and Anthobranchia. There isn't an article for Anthobranchia, so I was going to go ahead and create one but I noticed that this infraorder is not referenced by Bouchet & Rocroi 2005. Which is the most upto date source? Does this infraorder still exist? I am not so familiar with the higher taxonomic levels. I hope you are doing well, I have started to get back into nudibranchs again after a while off editing ships! Antarctic-adventurer (talk) 11:32, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Antarctic-adventurer, Clades are definitely the way that taxonomy will be in the future, not rigid ranks such as orders. The taxonomy of Bouchet and Rocroi 2005 uses only clades between the level of class and superfamily, so there are no such things as orders or suborders or infraorders any more. Here on Wikipedia in Project Gastropods we are following Bouchet & Rocroi 2005 with subsequent updates as they become published and then listed in Changes in the taxonomy of gastropods since 2005. User:Snek01 is I think primarily the person who has been adding the B&R taxonomy to articles. For simplicity's sake, he has been adding the latest taxonomy at the END of each taxonomy section. I believe it is better to reverse that, so that the most up to date taxonomy is shown at the BEGINNING of the taxonomy section and then followed by the second recent, and so on back as far as people want to go. But that involves rewriting the prose somewhat to make it clear which taxonomy systems are now in the past. I tweaked the section myself a bit just now, but did not reverse the sequence because I need to go out now. Would you perhaps like to do that? Best wishes, Invertzoo (talk) 13:06, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi from Pete
Hi Zoo,
Hope you and your family are well.
I had a dream of Wikipedia, and in the dream, I was fined $30,000 and was banned from writing any more articles. Because of this: Sinfonia Concertante for Oboe, Clarinet, Horn, Bassoon and Orchestra K. 297b. The "dream Wiki" said that I can only write on biology.
In fact, I know more of Mozart than I do of just about anything else. And I couldn't believe there was a space on Wikipedia to write on this subject.
So far, there are 584 Wikipedia articles attributed to me, and around 20 others that are not. There is no evidence to stop this from increasing in the near future.
It's a dream to be able to take photos, put them on Wikipedia and write about such beautiful, fascinating and wonderful stuff. The biology here in Australia is amazing.
Thanks for all your great support. Have fun.

Joining Gastropods
Hafa Adai Invertzoo,
I'm trying to get the hang of Wiki. I got started by looking for a few favorite Nudibranchs and I noticed they didn't have any photos. So I uploaded a few and added a few thoughts...Ha. Then I actually tried to add some information on Harlequin Shrimp. Anna Frodesiak's quickly educated me on how to post information :-) Anyway, I'm trying to figure out what Categories I should add to the nudibranch photos. Maybe you could give me some suggestions so the CatagoryBot doesn't chase me down and eat me. I'd be happy to join the group! I have a bunch if photo that could go in stub articles. For example, the whole genus Noumea has no information. I don't have tons of time to write whole pages but I'll contribute where I can! If you could start but suggesting the proper catagories I should have that would be great!

Hey, really sorry to have messed up your edit — we were both working simultaneously. I'll step back — use whatever you want of mine, or revert the whole damn thing. Truly sorry! — HarringtonSmith (talk) 14:02, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
I like your revision much better than my own. I knew that it was a third man, err, user, who had reverted me, and when I saw your edit, I was just as glad. Cheers. — HarringtonSmith (talk) 20:17, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
