Jacques Bertin Nguemaleu (born 2 September 1989 in Yaoundé) is a Cameroonian football defender playing as Captain for Union Sportive Douala.

Career

The central defender began his career in 2004 with Juvenile Academy FC[1] and signed in 2005 for Union Douala who by 2009 named him as the main team captain.[2] In summer 2009 left his club Union Sportive Douala and joined on loan for one season to Serbian SuperLiga club FK Napredak Kruševac, but he failed to make any league appearances and ended up mostly by playing for the B team.[3] The number of other foreign players and the new imposed regulamentation by the Serbian Football Association regarding the limit of foreign players made Nguemaleu not being selected for the league squad, so after this frustrating first experience in Europe Nguemaleu returned to Ghana.

National team

Nguemaleu is member of the Cameroon national under-20 football team,[4] played the Coupe Cemac 2009[5] and was called for the 2010 CEMAC Cup.[6] He was also member of the Camerron squad at the 2011 African Nations Championship having played all 3 group matches[7][8][9] and the quarter-finals match against where they lost with Angola[10] in a penalty shout-out with Nguemaleu scoring one of Cameroon´s penalties.
