Jordan Michael Slew (born 7 September 1992 in Sheffield, England)[1] is an English professional footballer currently playing as a striker for Sheffield United.

Career

A product of the Sheffield United academy, Slew made his professional début at the start of October 2010, coming on as an 86th minute substitute in a 1–0 home defeat to Watford.[2] Slew then signed his first senior professional contract with Sheffield United at the start of November which would run until 2012.[3] After a further substitute appearance he made his first start for the Blades on in mid April against Preston North End at Deepdale, and duly scored his first goal for the club.[4] After much speculation during the following close season Slew agreed an improved two year deal to keep him at Bramall Lane.[5]

On transfer deadline day 2011, Slew joined Blackburn Rovers FC and has a release clause of £48 million

International career

Slew made his international début for the England U19s in a 1–0 defeat to Germany on 8 February 2011, replacing Connor Wickham after 60 minutes[6] He earned his second cap against the Netherlands on 29 March 2011 in a 3–0 loss coming on at the 72nd minute.[7]
