Peters Canyon is an elementary school located in Tustin, California. It was built for $7 million in Mello-Roos funds and opened in September 1997.[2][3][4] The school is named after the nearby Peters Canyon Regional Park. Peters Canyon earned the California Distinguished School award in 2004 and 2008.[5][6] It received the National Blue Ribbon award in 2005.[7][8][9][10][11]

Peters Canyon is located on 10 acres (4 ha) of land and serves Tustin Ranch. The school is 42,000 square feet (3,900 m2) and was built for 650 students and held 320 students in its first year.[3] It is located at 26900 Peters Canyon Road.[3]

The school contains a student-run garden. On Earth Day in 2008 and 2010, students planted squash seeds, giving them to Second Harvest to grow past the seedling stage.[12][13]
