- General Mohammed Siad Barre, president of Somalia, 1969-1991.
- Abdirashiid Ali Sharmarke, President of Somalia 1967-1969, he was assissinated In Las Anod before General Said Barre took over in a bloodless coup.
- General Cabdraxman Jamac Qoorsheel, Major General of Supreme Somali Council who was involved in Somali's 1969 coup, and vice president of Somalia 1969-1971.
