Károly Garam (born May 10, 1941 in Eger, Hungary)[1] is a Hungarian-Finnish cello player and the brother of violin player Lajos Garam. Garam studied cello playing in the Sibelius Academy under Vili Pullinen and Yrjö Selin.[2] He held his first concert in 1966. Garam has also worked as the second solo cello player of the Finnish radio symphony orchestra from 1966 to 1986. He is married to Sirkka Garam (née Saarikoski), the sister of writer Pentti Saarikoski. They have four children, Kati, Satu, Sami and Teemu Garam.
