Mary Tregear

Mary Tregear (11 February 1924 – 17 December 2010) was a specialist in Chinese art.

Biography

Born in Wuchang, China.

Curator at Hong Kong University’s Fung Ping Shan Museum.

Member of staff at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford:
- Assistant Keeper for the Chinese collection, from 1961

- Keeper of Eastern Art, 1987-1991

Fellow of St Cross College.

Fellow of the British Academy.

President of the Oriental Ceramic Society.
