Arsalan Nami best known as Arsi Nami,[1] was born on May 21, 1984 in Shiraz, Iran, is an international singer and songwriter living in Los Angeles, California raised in Sweden.
His breakthrough came when he participated on "Aiming at the Stars" a national talent show program televised on TV4 (Sweden), Sikta Mot Stjärnorna[2] much like American Idol, singing live on television. After two auditions where 3000 participated, he became one of the forty-five to enter the show singing "Hero" (originally by Enrique Iglesias), ending in 2nd place.[3]
His music is in a variety of styles from dance, pop, electonica to Worldrhythm touches indicative of his upbringing. His tracks "Never Be Lonely" and dance version of "She Wants to Fly" collab with Levi Whalen played on major hit radiostations around the world web. "Never Be Lonely" is also featured as an Official track for Video Game Good Game Disco.[4]
His composed music has also been featured in soundtrack of Cannes film festival movie "Crown Prince of Heaven".[5]
Arsi Nami's remake of world famous song Besame Mucho with producer Levi Whalen and Jacqueline Padilla is the first duo and dance version of the song in the history.
Arsi is also known for writing,performing and dedicating his works for freedom, human rights and health foundations. His hitsong "She Wants to Fly" was written and dedicated to "the innocent people of Iran who sacrificed their lives for freedom during the Summer 2009 elections", which has been broadcast on major TV networks around the world such as Peace Day Television show with world figures Dali Lama, Bono, U2, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Angelina Jolie etc.[6]
All music, lyrics, and instruments are played, written by him.[7] He co-directed, produced, and edited two of his music videos: "100 Miles" and "Heaven Knows", which have been broadcast through mainstream medium giants such as MTV UK. His Music Video 100 Miles was also featured at the '''Laemmie Theaters Santa Monica SMC Film Festival, Persian major television channels and more.
