Sanjurge is a small rural village located at the base of a mountain in the north of Portugal. It is approximately 6 km or 3.7 miles from Chaves, Portugal, the main city or freguesia of that region. It is also about 15 minutes from the Spain and Portugal Border.

Specialties

Sanjurge, and its surrounding areas are known for their crops and hard work but the two things that they are really known for is Presunto, a smoked ham and their Folar, a type of bread with different kinds of meat in it.
