Large Silla Dynasty Urn: Measuring 12" high and 12-1/2" in diameter at the top. Silla dynasty urn of elegant and imposing proportions with 3-tier open work base, rectangular slits in each of the three bands in a tapered manner, and a flaring neck forming the urn. All have three rows of detail. A wave like pattern probably rendered with a tool as in incising; a hatch mark at the lower level and a rhythmic wave at the 2nd and 3rd levels toward the top- an imposing vessel and among the best of its type. Silla dynasty 8th/10th century.
From the Private Collection of Paul V. and Elizabeth J. Colaianni.
