Keith Wren a well known local footballer also lives in West Hanningfield. Keith graced many of the local football pitches playing for Herongate and then Hambros. His silky skills in defence stopped many a good forward from scoring. On many occaisions Keith after making that goal saving tackle played the ball forward to either one of his team mates, more often it was Rod Todd or Rob Stranders who usually went on to score a goal. On hand as always was Alan jones to give total support to the total football which was played. After the game the normal celebrations took place in The Three Compasses. The team were always welcome. x
