Agreed. If you look at [[List of legal abbreviations|other]] [[List of Latin abbreviations|abbreviation]] [[List of abbreviations in photography|lists]], they're much easier to reference when looking for a quick answer.

Formatting?

Should this article be formatted so that the abbreviated term comes first and is listed alphabetically, rather than by type of term? It just seems like this is "definition" first, then vocabulary word; harder for someone to reference if they're going through a standard knitting pattern.

Agreed. If you look at other abbreviation lists, they're much easier to reference when looking for a quick answer.
