UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The event is to take place on December 30, 2011, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.[1]
Background
Due to a pay per view revenue decline in recent months, the UFC will return to a 10 p.m. ET start with this event.[2]
Vitor Belfort is targeting a return at this event.[3]
The main event will be a #1 contender bout for the UFC Heavyweight Championship.[4]
A bout between Diego Sanchez and Jake Ellenberger was briefly linked to this event.[5] However, a lingering hand injury is expected to keep Sanchez out of action until February 2012.[6]
UFC 141 will feature two preliminary fights live on Spike TV.[7]
