A tether is a cord that anchors something to something else, such as a pole. There are a number of applications for tethers, but the primary use is limiting the movement of animals.
Uses for tethers
- Rock climbing and mountain climbing
- Radio controlled cars (before the advent of wireless radio controls)
- Tether satellites : Electrodynamic tethers and tether propulsion
- F1 Cars : to secure wheels to chassis
